Our farm is located in the Pioneer Valley just north of Interstate 91 and Route 2 in Gill, Massachusetts. We are wholesale growers specializing in the production of native New England plant material for use by garden centers,  private and commercial contractors, municipalities and local landscapers. Our plants are used for small and large scale naturalization and landscaping projects, commercial restoration and reclamation and riverbank stabilization.

THE BENEFITS OF BUYING FROM LOCAL GROWERS

Buying locally grown plants ensures the material is better acclimated, proven to be adaptable and hardier than stock imported from outside the New England area.  Once established, native plants are cost effective.  They thrive without much care, requiring less water, less fertilizer and fewer pest control efforts, while contributing positively to the overall quality of our environment.  They keep us in touch with our natural surroundings by preserving history, providing beauty and ensuring habitats and refuges for wildlife.

Buying locally grown plants reduces shipping costs for both the consumer and the environment.  It supports smaller producers who struggle to compete with national chains and large corporations which flood the market by overproducing and undercutting price.

We are commited to understanding and expanding our agricultural practices to benefit and sustain our environment.  We currently employ many methods in which to do so. This includes, but is not limited to-

  • Soil conservation and erosion control through water and irrigation management
  • Using cover crops and composted materials
  • Utilization of plant and soil diagnostics to aid in the reduction of herbicides, fungicides and insecticide use
  • Integrated Pest Management
  • Organic and in-organic waste management
  • Conservation of energy and the use of renewable alternative when possible
  • Recycling of organic material
Our efforts are ongoing and our practices continue to evolve.  We support an understanding and appreciation for the beauty of native plants in our natural landscape, the preservation of native wildlife and the protection of our renewable resources- We know you do too!

We appreciate your interest and look forward to providing for your future plant needs.
